PV in Germany: no feed-in-tariff reduction in July!

17/06/2011 - Due to the slow growth of the installations there won’t be the expected decrease of incentives in July 2011.

The announcement came directly from the German government that yesterday has declared that the feed-in-tariff (FIT), a mechanism that rewards the production of electricity from the solar source, will not suffer the reductions scheduled for July 2011.

According to the indications that the Government had given earlier this year, the incentives should have been lowered depending on the power installed in March, April and May 2011 expected to reach at least 875 MWp but, since the quota has not been reached, the fee reduction will no longer be carried out.

It is now expected a strong recovery of the market even thanks to the Government recent declaration to come out gradually, but quickly, from the nuclear program to encourage renewables and energy savings.
